About UPTET
Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board holds the UPTET every year. UPTET is a kind of teacher eligibility test for getting teaching jobs in government schools or various public schools in Uttar Pradesh from class 1 to 8. Paper is meant for teaching class 1 to 5 and paper 2 is for class 6 to 8. It is conducted by both Central and State Government of India. Candidates who are aspiring to be a teacher in a government school and have professional qualification such as B.T.C (D.El.Ed), B.Ed, B.El.Ed is eligible to take part in the test.
UPTET 2018 Notification Pattern of Examination
UPTET Examination consists of Paper 1 and paper 2 as follows :
- Paper 1 is for Primary Level (Class 1 to 5) for the primary teacher (PRT)
- Paper 2 is for Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8)
- If any candidate wants to apply for Class 1 to 8. She/He will have to qualify both the Papers (Paper 1 and 2).
UPTET Minimum Marks and Validity :
Minimum 60% marks are required to qualify the exam. Scorecard of UPTET is valid for a duration of 5 years. Although, UPTET can be given every year if any candidate wants to improve his score.

UPTET Exam Schedule
Generally, UPBEB conducts Paper 1 in the evening (2.00 pm to 4.30 pm) and paper 2 in the morning (9.30 am to 12.00 pm).
Eligibility Criteria
– For Paper 1: The candidate must have passed senior secondary or equivalent with 45 % marks a 2-year Diploma in Elementary education/Four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education(B.El.Ed)/Special Education.
– For Paper 2: The candidate must be Graduate in any discipline (B.A./B.Com./B.Sc.) and 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education/B.Ed./B.El.Ed /B.Sc./B.A.
